My friends, when we’re having a couple over for dinner and I don’t know what to do, I look in our pantry. This time, for this Italian pasta recipe, I had everything in my kitchen. Yay! I love when that happens.
It’s easy to cook pasta whenever you need to bring a plate of pasta to share. I know, it’s been a while since we’ve heard “engagement” work. But we hope we’re starting to hear it more and more now.
Fresh tomatoes add a nice touch to this recipe! In fact, fresh tomatoes make the recipe! Garnish with fresh basil slices and serve with warm crusty bread and a side salad. good!
°1 lb. Pasta of any kind is cooked until al dente
°2 jars of spaghetti sauce
°2 cups mozzarella cheese (grated)
°1 onion (chopped)
°2 red peppers, cut into pieces
°1 pound skinless and boneless chicken breast, cut into small pieces
°1 pound Italian sausage, cut into pieces
2° tbsp. olive oil
°½ tsp. Italian seasoning
°Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Over medium heat, heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
Brown the sausage and chicken in the skillet for 5 minutes.
Stir in onions and sweet peppers.
Fry the mixture until the meat is well cooked.
Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste, then drain excess fat from skillet.
Combine meat, vegetables, pasta and sauce.
Pour the mixture into a large baking dish and cover with the cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes before serving.
